Cut ear on dog

if you have quick stop, you can apply that to the ear, with pressure held on for a very long time. You could also try this with flour, or cinnamon. once you get it to stop bleeding, use cotton & vet wrap, and wrap her ear close to her head. Duct tape idea might be worth a shot too.....

I would use gauze or cut up an old T shirt to fit around her head to hold her ear back. Put some Quick Stop on it if you have some before wrapping so it'll dry. Be sure you don't obstruct her breathing. Use the Duck Tape only on the gauze or T shirt with only a small amount on her fur as it is very hard on skin. If you had Vet Wrap or Coban that would be best. I'd give her a treat she can chew on for a while to keep her from messing with it for as long as possible. She'll look funny so take a picture!

The vet wrap just wasn't working, and the snood was the biggest I could make but kept bunching up and getting too tight. It was bleeding again tonight so I took drastic measures, duct taping her ear to her head then around like a collar. It is mostly just stuck to itself as she is quite dusty. So far so good. Her ear is inside out so if she scratches she doesn't pull it apart.

The ointment is what I used on my dogs ear when it was bleeding and worked best. Pressure too and it would restart if he shook his head or hit his ear. I never taped it. It takes a few days to stop bleeding depending on the severity and where it may take longer. Should be easier to get it to stop each day though.
