I found spots of blood in many places in our duck pen this am. I determined that it was Veronica, the pekin. I couldn't see any sign of trauma, no cuts or anything visible until I picked her up and flipped her over. There was blood (not a lot) on her belly. Obviously very easy to see on a white duck. She is active, eating fine, alert, etc. I can't really see the extent of what is there until hubby gets home, as I need both hands to hold her and can't check very well that way. Do we need to bother putting anything like triple antibiotic cream on it if she has a cut? I am assuming she got a cut on the ice somehow. She is so low to the ground. She's been in and out of the pool several times already and washes off much of the blood. So, I am guessing anything I put on it will come off too. It is not bleeding profusely and I am guessing that by the time Rob gets home, the bleeding will have stopped and it will be all washed off. How concerned do I have to be with a small cut?
Thanks for any help.
