I accidentally cut the toe of my month-old chick. It bled a lot yesterday and she pulled off the makeshift bandage during the night. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can bandage a tiny toe? She pecks at it and it's still slowly bleeding.

My favorite thing to use for cuts and scrapes is a medicated veterinarian spray. The two that I know of are called Blu-Kote and Scarlet Spray They work wonders and no bandage needed! It also serves as a protective coating! It is sold at most feed/hardware stores.

You can attach a small piece of gauze with a tiny amount of neosporin on it to a small strip of duct tape and wrap the duct tape snugly (not tight) around the cut. The chick will not be able to remove the duct tape. Remove or replace it 48 hours later, hopefully the cut will be healed in that time frame.
