Hi!

I am working to add some color to my chicken coop and run. I need some ideas!

So far I have worked on curtains for the coop door.

I have worked on a sign that says "Hentrance" for the coop door.

I have researched metal matchboxes as grit and oyster shell dispensers.

I have made a coop spray that makes the coop smell nice and fresh.

I have sanded the roosts.

I have ordered a new waterer that I am hoping works.

And, of course, I have cleaned the coop.

Questions and suggestions are welcome!

Do you have windows? Maybe curtains for the windows, and the nest boxes, if they don't already have curtains.

I sort of have windows - but they are about four inches tall and 4 feet long... so flower boxes might be hard. Thanks for the ideas!

What's in the spray? Scented products aren't a great idea around chickens, their respiratory systems can be sensitive to such things.

Vinegar, orange peel, and a cinnamon stick. The recipe is in the 101 Chicken-Keeping Hacks book.

Eh I'd be iffy on using that. I'm sure it smells nice, but chickens don't need to smell nice. Smelling absolutely nothing when I'm around my flock is the best thing of all, because it means it's clean and nothing's amiss.
