Thank you for the compliments on Minnie. I was so fortunate to get this pic of her. She was killed by a dog and never had a chance to brood again. She was an extra special chicken mama.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that!! how old were her babes when she died??

Luckily they were all out of the nest. Minnie was off prepping for her next brood. I have been lucky that way. I had one hen with a young brood who went lame while still with about month old babies. She manage to recover after about a week, well enough to finish the job. She died shortly after.
