Chicken Name: Angela

Age: about four months

State: California

Description: Well, technically Angela is not a mix breed, but a mix of two varieties. Her sire is a Fawn Silver Duckwing OEGB, and her dam was a Golden Campine Patterned OEGB.
Angela has the silver pattern on her neck, back, and tail, and the Campine pattern on her breast. Even these characteristics are not very bold.

Something cute about them: She was one of the ten babies I hatched myself! She was raised with the rest of the peeps by two moms at once (two OEG bantams). One night a raccoon got into the coop and killed every chick. Only Angela escaped.

Was it love at first sight: Well, I loved Angela just as much as the other peeps, so, yeah, I guess it was...

Anyway, I got her parents here...

Angela's sire:
Remus

Angela's dam:

And they like taking dirt baths with momma hen.

Was it love at first sight: Yes, we adored them all the moment they hatched, not only because they were amazingly cute, but also because they were our first ever chicks to hatch under a broody and from our own chickens.

Chicken name: Feathers (you guys have probably been seeing a lot of Feathers lately. Just tell me if you're getting bored of these pictures and I'll upload some new ones.)

Age: 11 months. We got her on dad's birthday, which just happens to be feather's day too

State:--

Description: We got Feathers from a farm shop which we walked four hours there and back to get. The guy said the chicks were all New Hampshires, but I was informed by a fellow BYCer that she is a red star. I assume that is so, seeing as she hardly ever misses a day when it comes to laying.

Something cute about them: Feathers is a very people chicken. She follows you around everywhere, and when you stop walking she thrusts herself against your leg, tilts her head up at you and goes ber-ber-ber-ber in a cute highpitched chicken voice. If you squat down and feed her, she will wipe her beak on your lap when she's finished eating

Was it love at first sight: Feathers and Eggie lived in a cardboard box in the corner of the room that is now mum's room. I picked Feathers to be my chicken, because she would cheep and try to stuff herself into the small hole at the top of the box and fly everywhere and always seemed to manage to find a way out and poo on the carpet, while Eggie just stood there like she was having a panic attack, lowering her head to peck at the food once in a while. Mum got Eggie
