Cutest.Rooster. Ever.

Most likely.. I go to the chicken auction occasionally, and thats where he came from.. I wormed him when I got him, and my other rooster who I got last year at the auction is the same way. No other chicken has legs like that.. nor have they developed a problem like that so it doesnt seem to spread. I'm just not exactly sure what it is and I dont want to stress him or the other guy out and make them hate me even more by dunking them in oil so I just let them be.. it doesnt seem to bother them what so ever....

I've heard he may actually enjoy having his legs soaked in warm water first..to loosen up the scales. The coat them in vaseline. Does look like scaley mites. What a sweet boy!!!

he has scaley leg mites and they do need to be treated as they are painful and can spread to the others. A quick search on here will bring up loads of useful threads on the subject, best of luck. He is lovely though!

My chickEns had scaleey leg mites :-/ i would suggest vaseline. Messy, but works better than any other methods I have tried on my chickens. Luckily the roo isn't too severe. My chickens lost toes from those mites
