Tonight when I went to check on them Hutch was heating Zelda like a chick. It’s very cute but does anyone know if it’s normal? I suppose if Hutch didn’t like it she’d sleep somewhere else. Had to remove the roost as it broke with chunky Hutch jumping on it.

Cute!
They are still young, yes? It's normal for them to do that, chickens like to huddle up together. As they mature and come into lay, that behavior may stop and they will roost.

Curious, what's up with Hutch's tail feathers?

Thank you! I just bought her a week ago for Zelda, as Zelda’s mate died and I don’t have any other small chickens. Someone had also clipped Hutch’s wing and made a real mess of it! She’s on chick crumb though so hopefully the high protein will help her feathers.
They fought a bit and Hutch does peck Zelda every now and then which is why Zelda underneath her surprised me. They did roost until I took it out to repair it. They are both about 6 months old and fully grown.

Seems like they are getting along pretty good!
