CX don't grow the feathers as do heritage breed chickens. They will usually have a lot of bald skin under wings, under belly, and sometimes even their backs untill the later weeks (5 to 6) of life. That has been my experience with them. The really cool thing is that their feather are more easily plucked than other breeds.
