I thought that i knew what i was doing with myCX chicks, but i missed the part about taking away the food at night to let legs catch up to body. now they are 5 weeks and some are having touble walking. we had a storm today and one is soaked and looking beet up. should i butcher it or just let nature take corse? what about the others, if they are having trouble should i start butchering them to? i would hate to just let them die

Well, I'm no expert when it comes to CX but ifI had purchased some for meat and mine were starting to have leg problems, I would process them. They may not be as big as you would want them if they were to live to be 8 weeks old but at least you wouldn't be losing them to death. But that's must my opinion.

Culling is part of raising CX. You are literally raising the birds to kill them when you choose to do so. You might bring it inside thr garage, dry it out, and see how things go for a day, if no improvement, cull.

I would gently blow dry the wet one (careful not to burn the skin) and then put back in with the rest. trouble getting around is not broken legs so I would keep feeding; making sure they have clean comfortable bedding & plenty of water. they tend to like to just lay around with their heads in the feeder, it's just what they do.
