Hi there, I have an Ameraucana pullet that has had a bit of swelling going on in the corner of the fleshy part of her eye for a bit of time now. It has recently gotten worse and has increased in size. It is not scabby, nor very hard to the touch. I have been reading up on this, and it does not appear to be from a worm problem in her eye.
She is active, is happy and ranges around like usual, just she has this handicap disabling her from seeing too well in the left eye.

When eye is open:

When eye is closed:

Whole chicken:

Right eye, normal one:

I would greatly appreciate any more insight into this, as well as what I can do to fix it.
Thanks!

Did you ever figure out what this was or how to treat it? I have a pullet that looks the same.

It looks like puss. Get a qtip with some neosporin on it and gently remove it by pressing and rolling from the outside. It should come out like a big plug.
Any other symptoms? Most people would think respiratory illness and to put her on Tylan.

I guess my girl's eye looks a bit different, not like there is puss just swollen
like the third eyelid is puffy.

It may be a respiratory infection. Start them on Tylan

Anybody have an idea what this is? She acts fine and no one else is sick. Some one said detached eye lid.

This and the first picture above look very much like cherry eye, which is a problem with the gland of the nictitating membrane or third eyelid. It can be due to heredity or from an infection. A vet can remove it, and it may become a problem in the other eye. If it isn't that, then I would probably treat it with antibiotics such as erythromycin or Gallimycin. Here is a link to read about this problem in dogs: http://www.canidae.com/blog/2010/06/what-causes-cherry-eye-in-dogs-and-how-to-correct-it.html
