Cyst in hen.

I had a hen laying soft shelled eggs on a regular basis so I decided to cull her. When I was dressing her for the stew pot I came across two cysts in the abdoman about the size of small marbles. They were clear iin color. Could this have been causing the soft shelled eggs and what could it be and how do I treat it? Any ideas?

Were the cysts attached to anything?

The only cure for soft shelled eggs, that I know about is calcium - offer oyster shells free choice.
