D7 blood ring?

This is a marans egg that hasn’t been handled or candled previously other than to weigh and check air cell before going into the incubator 7 days ago. Everything else in the incubator is developing nicely but this looks weird.

Shown from both left and right (my hand is over the air cell). There appears to be an embryo top center but I didn’t notice any independent movement - it’s sort of just floating there.

Could this still be alive or is it a quitter?

To me that looks like a quitter and blood ring unfortunately.
If you are not totally convinced though just leave it in and re-check in a few days.

I would say unfortunately that's a definite blood ring

Yup. Cracked it and it looks like it expired around D5. Thanks for your input!
