Glad you jumped in! What colors do you raise now? I'd love to see some pics of your adult birds!
Oh goodness! I am planning on buying a silver pair as well as others this Fall but Matt has a hard time finding time to take pics for me. I've never seen his silvers...any way you could get a pic of your hen and post it for me to see?! THANKS!
She's dirty at the moment, but she's pretty nice quality for a breeder. Tiny feet, pretty small bill, round head, little square body low to the ground & she weighs 1.25 pounds. The pastel drake weighed in at 1.06 pounds. I'll try to toss her into the pool so I can get her clean enough for pix.
Oh hun...don't worry yourself about getting her clean! Trust me, I KNOW how ducks are...It's darn near impossible to keep them clean! Especially when you keep them in ground pens like I do mine. I would LOVE for my hubby to build me some really nice off the ground breeding pens for each color I have but so far...NO SUCH LUCK! The birds are my thing so he does as little as he can get away with when it comes to them!
I mainly want to see what he is calling silver. He told me it's not the UK version of silver but a light silver color, almost white...I'm just wondering if I had been calling mine lavenders when they're actually silver...I'm not too sure about the color genetics of the silver and I'm curious!
So peachncrm37, are you letting all of your colors run together then or do you have them separated by their different color varieties now? Just wondering because I keep my colors pure and don't let them mix...well, I take that back...right now they're running together but before I sell them as specific color varieties, I will separate them into their groups. I let them run together during the off season and have been battling cancer so I've not separated them yet. I'm hoping to do that this weekend at the latest. I'll go and check out your FB page asap!

She just barely has any color to her. It is kind of a tan/lavender mixed tint to her wings & head with most of her body being pretty much white. With dirt on her you would think she's just a dirty white bird, but part of it is color.
