Need help!

Silkie, I see you come on here..I know you hatch ducks. Had a friend knocking on my door this morning that I hadn't seen in a while. With a carton full of duck eggs. He says, not sure if they are any good or not..mama got killed by a racoon last night. I asked, last night? How long had she been sitting...he says, at least two weeks. I say, they are probably ok..going by how chicks can for a while without heat at that time. Then I felt them. Cold cold. Said I would candle and see what happens, but couldn't make any promises. I haven't hatched ducks in yrs. Candled when he left. I have a great candler my DH made for me. Could see a lot of black, nice, nice, air sacs..of course, they weren't shipped! lol..anyway, no movement. Put them in the bator to warm up. He gave me 14, 13 are very viable. I took photos of two tonight. I've seen a chart. I think they may be around day 21? Maybe 22? I know they go 26 to 28 days. I need to know when to go into lock down. May have to just watch and do the lock down when I candle and see an internal pip. ??
First egg, first side.....

First egg again, other side...

Second egg, first side...

Second egg again, other side...they all pretty much look like this.

That is good to hear. :) I think you are right..close to hatching, I candled more, and those air sacs have started to drop! Getting that humidity up that high is hard in this bator. It's coming up though. I just these yesterday...they will be hatching before I know it! I'm excited...baby ducks. :)
