Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

GUYS - candled the new egg and sure enough, I could see the germinal disk! The egg's fertile! Now we play the waiting game....and hope that I don't have any more quitters :/

I started off with 25 shipped eggs, 12 were clear and I've lost 3 others so far, so now I've just got 10

What total do you think I'll get, it's my first time incubating duck eggs -especially calls- myself and I know these buggers are gonna drive me insane (these should/t have as much trouble because they aren't show quality)

Any call duck is going to have a lower hatch rate than other breeds, but if yours aren't show quality then yes, you can expect to have better luck than most. I've hatched several clutches from champion bloodlines so far and I have had a 66% hatch rate - some get as low as 50%. You shouldn't have this problem. I'm sure your lil' baby webfeets will be able to bust open that shell all on their own. :) But it's always good to stick around on hatch day, just in case!
