I order mine from L & M leg bands lmbirdlegbands.com
Thanks! I took a look at that but I'm still not clear on what size to get. Do you think it would be the ones they're calling canary bands, or maybe the parakeet ones?

Oh gosh no. I order the 16 aluminum bands. Once you put them on they never come off. The parakeet bands would cut off the leg as the baby grew. I put the bands on at about 6 weeks old. Occasionally a baby is too small and I have to wait a little longer to put them on.
You could also use something like these if you want to put them on when they're younger. http://m.ebay.com/itm/like/28141815...17182-37290-0&rvr_id=821743298344&_mwBanner=1
My flock all runs together. I don't separate for breeding usually. I normally only have 1 clutch of babies at a time and normally they're all different colors. The only thing I normally keep track of is dates of hatch. Thanks much! That seems more what I was looking for. I'm going to get a ruler out in a bit to get an idea how large these bands are. I need something that I can put on just a couple of days after they hatch while they're still very teeny, and it of course has to be something removable, but it also has to be something that's not so big that it interferes with them walking.
It sounds like you use only the permanent bands. Do you mind me asking how you keep track of them before they're old enough for the permanent ones? Numbered bands are the only thing I've thought of so far.
They look like mixed colors. Not any pure color that I've seen. Love the markings on the hen.So guys I have some pet quality/mixes and I have no idea what colour they are, the breeder had chocolate white and black bibbed. They looked chocolate as ducklings but then they grew... The drake looks dusky-ish and the duck looks like an apricot gray.[/URL]![]()
