Heehee. A pause button. Good one. They do grow so fast. But I still think adult ducks no matter what breed are so cute. The little one on the rock grooming himself is so cute. You've got a wonderful little group there.

She's adorable. Love her round little body.
she/he is the only one out of 6 that can not get her/his little button to go under for a dive in the water. She/he trys so hard. She/he got it once but couldn't do it again. She/he I think got so excited about it that she/he forgot how she/he did it.She's adorable. Love her round little body.
It is cool how you bond with your ducks. Not a weirdo at all.
Loved the vids. Wobbles is a super fast nibbler. His body view from the top reveals to how cute he is. Then Bean. She is beautiful and very athletic. How fast can she run?!!I I love her. Not a fearful little girl duck at all.

Rubber duckie I like it. Wobbles sounds a lot like this little one.If it makes ya feel better, neither can Wobbles. He'll try and try, but he submerges about as well as a rubber duckie.
I'm sorry. That really must have been hard for you.Hils was home all day so it went better, yes. Mostly I was just feeling down since that was the day I learned Pancake passed away and it roughed me up a bit. So this means that none of the calls I hatched survived. I thought for sure he'd be okay...I'm positively gutted and I feel like a total failure. I didn't learn until way too late that the breeder of those chocolates is a terrible man who keeps his birds confined in tiny cages and were never bred with fresh stock for the 20+ years he's been doing this. So for all I know, my ducklings all had some sort of fatal defect as the result of who knows how many generations of inbreeding.
Admittedly I don't know if that's what killed lil' Cakey or even his sister Milkshake, but I can't shake the terrible thought. And if that IS what happened then I feel nine kinds of rotten for giving him away to such a lovely person if he was a ticking time bomb, you know? I could have spared myself, my husband and my dear acquaintance a lot of heartbreak if I'd never hatched those eggs. It's hard to understate just how much I loved those babies. I've only hatched a handful of calls, and since I can't have kids I kinda bonded with them way more than is probably healthy. Mostly I just feel awful for Alicia. I can't even imagine what she's going through. And I feel like it could be my fault.
They are just too cute for words! I need a harness for my ducks!! That's pretty neat. I don't think it's weird to bond with your ducks the way you do. I feel pretty strongly for my feathered kids too. I swear my heart grew three sizes the day I brought them home alone. That was even before I got to know them and their personalities. I'm going to have a hard time putting them out in their pen when it's finally done as they've pretty much been my house ducks for nearly 9 weeks of their lives.I just feel like a weirdo for bonding so hardcore to my ducks! I still keep Milkshake close to my heart in a nice silver wearable urn with a bird etched on it. I'm a freak like that. On a happier note, Wobbles and Bean had their first park outing! It went pretty well, they didn't fight at all. See how close they were! Bean had her first flying lesson, too
She is fast. The face plant flip over scared me but when I watched it again she had quickly recovered. Can she outrun Wobbles?Omg she is SO FAST! We were initially worried about taking her to the park without a harness 'cuz if she got spooked she'd just bolt. But she surprised us by being, well, pretty dang calm.
These two are driving me batty. When I start to think they're getting along better, wham, something happens. Last night they were both on the bed totally ignoring each other, and then outta nowhere he walks up and bites her right on the heinie! No hissing, posturing, nothing, just waddle-waddle-NOM
