Anymore pictures, just looked through every page and read just about every post. I'm supposed to be getting a Snowy Call Male and a Pastel Female. Haven't heard from the guy yet to see wether or not there ducklings or fully grown. Hope there ducklings so that they can bond with me.

Cole.

Jet, Sprinkles, and Ellie Mae's first 2 babies hatched, and a third one just pipped this morning! I have around 15 more of their eggs in the incubator, with a batch due every week from here on out!

I originally was only going to have Jet and Sprinkles in this pen, but I gave away my other pair of Butterscotch Calls and didn't have anyplace else to put little Ellie Mae!

Their babies - a Blue Bibbed and a Blue Fawn (I expect to get several more different colors from this pen - Jet and Sprinkles are both heterozygous for the extended black gene, so I could get something as exotic as a Blue Dusky from them, as well as Grays, Blue and Black Bibbeds, maybe even some Self-Blacks and Blues! When I plugged everything into the Duck Color Calculator there were 6 or 8 different colors those two could produce together - Sprinkles comes from a White x Butterscotch cross, so there's a lot of genes at work there!)...The little Blue Bibbed one sure isn't camera shy!

NajmoNests - Are those ALL Call ducklings in the brooder? How many different colors do you have? I'm obsessed with playing with color genetics! Although - my fiancée wants me to only focus on Self-Blacks, Bibbeds, Magpies, and Anconas from here on out. He likes the black & white ducks.

Hello everyone. I'm still trying to learn how to use computors and this forum. Now i found this thread and i'm going to try to put in some of my pics. Oh, and i can't spell. So don't laugh it's probably not a typo, it's just me. lol Anyway, i started out with two calls that i rescued from a neighbour. She thought they were cute at a day old and didn't like the work or the mess after only a week. She got them at a barn auction and didn't know anything about them except that they were call ducks. I didn't know if they were male or female. I'm soooooooooo experianced i thought it was the male with the loud quake. Shows what i know. (But i'm learning) Here is a pic of my first two. I think it's a gray male and a snowy female. Lots of pics.

In this pic they are doing what they were born to do, lol, how cute.

These are my new twin girls.

I have kept them seperate because my new male is very agressive to my other female. There's a gate between the two runs and it's only open if i'm in with them.

My original pair have the run of the chicken coop at night, they are a year old and have been with the chickens since they were baby's, Donald and Daisey. The three new ones are locked up in the same coop at night, Cugo cause he's mean and the girls are still waiting for names.

Now after all that i have a question for all you call pros.
My new ones seem so much bigger and longer and taller than my original call. I did whiegh them and they are all just under 2 lbs. Daisey is 1.9 and Donald is 1.1lbs. Cugo is 1.8 and the twins are 1.11 and 1.14. So how is that explained? Different breeders?

I have another silly question. Do ducks lay double yolk eggs? I thought my new white calls were laying large eggs, my original two calls i got last year layed eggs half the size of my new girls. I put four in the bator last sat. and they are all the same size. I have been collecting all week and i have another eight that i marked and put in tonight. Don't know how to explain this but they are different sizes. Some of them look like they are double yolked. One of them is half the size of all the others. I candled my first four thirty min. ago. It is just amazing!!!!! I could see the red spot and alot of veins, and as i was turning it i saw the sam thing on the other side. Is it possible there are two in there? As my father would say, it can only happen in your house. He means i always get the oddball animals. Some of the eggs it's hard to tell which is the big end. Is it even possible for two to hatch out of one egg. Twins are in my family lol!!! I will try to add pics tomorrrow.,sorry. It's hard to see without pics.

Im sure its possible, Ive read that most double yolks wont hatch though. Are your call ducks tiny or large? I have eggs from 4 different people and I have from small eggs that are silkie egg size to a larger size about the same as what my Brahmas hatched out of. The larger eggs I got last year hatched out ducks that were more closer to a small or miniature mallard rather than a tiny small billed call duck.
This is from a thread about double yolk duck eggs:
