daddy goose

I hatch baby geese about 2 weeks ago now. Took them out meet there parent the mommy wanted nothin with them she peck at there heads when she did the daddy went after her for it. I guess im asking is normal for the daddy to raise them if mom wont do it. Now mind the dad is a Chinese goose. Cant what the mom is but there not the same.

I wouldn't depend on him to keep them warm but my gander who is Embden is a great papa goose to all ducklings and gosling that have hatched here. So wait till they are older before giving them to him full time They can't regulate their body temps till they are feathered in.

Thank u very much for answer but that wierd thing he was keepin warm he was doin every the morher should been doin. The mother since has decide she wants them so there both raise them.
