I would get some 1/2" hardware cloth for the sides and top. Around the bottom edge, to prevent diggers, you would dig that down about 12-18".

If you can't dig, we couldn't either due to too many roots and boulders so piled rocks around it. This is just a little run off of our coop for during inclement weather, they'll be locked in but have access to this pen. Otherwise, they free range.



Josie, that border collie keeps the yard varment free. We have solar motion lights all over the yard and around the coop too as we border a forest so they're near but don't come here.

I think if you got a couple of solar motion lights, at the least that would scare them off, but the HWC (hardware cloth) keeps most anything out.
