Daily turning of the eggs?????????????/

I support Akane in this. There are a lot of rules of thumb and go-by's we have on here. Areas in coops and runs, roost height and length, what to feed and when, temperatures in brooders, locking them up at night, integrating new chickens. The list goes on and on. Plenty of people violate these all the time and don't have noticable problems. But enough people have problems when they violate these that they have become rules of thumb. A lot of people don't know that they have problems because they violated the rules of thumb. A chicken is not going to tell you that we killed this new chicken because we don't have enough room in the run. People just assume they have mean chickens.

I look at it as the rules of thumb improve the odds. There are no guaranties in most of what we do, but I'll try to keep the odds my side.

Back to the original topic. This site gives good information on turning eggs, both before and during incubation. And I'd certainly continue the hatch, turning them from now on as if they had been turned as recommended from day 1.
