Dallas is dead

Yes we're looking! I know a lot of people who have ducks and I'm asking if any of them are looking to rehone some. If not then rehoming forum or craigslist and petfinder.

That's great hopefully soon Toaster will have a friend.

Have you held Toaster before the unfortunate incident? If so, maybe you can hold your duck to comfort it & so it won't feel so alone until you can acquire a friend :).

I held him before lots of times, I don't think he ever enjoyed it but he tolerated me, I went into his pin and picked him up and pet him for ten-ish minutes, after I put him down I think he attacked me!
He started vibrating his head and neck and ran his beak over my leg and jumped up and started flapping his wings and I think he bit me once. I feel like he's saying: "I trusted you to keep her safe and now she's dead" I feel so guilty and Toaster rejecting me doesn't help.

I don't think so. I think he maybe confused & frustrated. Even humans get that way when they lose someone :(. Which is understandable. I'm sorry it didn't work out. How has he been doing? I'll keep praying for you both.

He's eating and drinking now, and I saw him preening earlier. He won't get in his tub though, usually Dallas would get in and he would stand next to it and they would talk to each other and flap their wings, but since yesterday he hasn't gone near it.
My d**n dog won't leave him alone, he paces the pin and barks at him and paws at it, my other dog who likes the ducks barks and bites him when this happens, but it doesn't work. Every time I see his face all I can think of is him saying "finally did it I got her I got her". He literally looked satisfied. Now he wants Toaster.
