I went to take more/better pictures but the battery died as I snapped the 2nd one. This is blurry, but is it already too much comb for a 3ish week old? The comb is yellow, and skinny but i'm afraid it's too pronounced after reading someone else's thread. I'll post a better pic in the morning, too, once the camera is charged. Sometimes the legs seem pretty thick also, but the others are a couple of weeks younger so I don't have a good comparison.

Well, I'm on my first batch of chicks so I'm about the furthest thing from an expert. But we ordered one roo and his comb looked a lot like that one at three weeks. It has pinked up considerably in his fourth week but .........not looking so good. I guess a lot depends on what kind he is. His comb grew bigger so quickly, I think you'll know soon.

I went to graduate school at U of O. And my name is Anne Marie......maybe some weird alternate universe thing going on!

Good luck with Her(?!?!) Does Eugene let you have chickens in the city now? That's cool!

Well...Eugene allows 2 hens. But I'm told that you can have what you want as long as there are no complaints from neighbors. And 3 of our 4 immediate neighbors have 6-8 chickens, 2 of those free range, so I think i'm safe.

This is our first flock, although I got 6 in March (1 is going roo) and just got 4 more last week. It's addicting!

If this chick is a roo I want go back to the feed store and get a more likely pullet. I think the Partridge Rocks are so pretty, and they had a bunch! Oh well, might have to wait and get a couple next year.
