Hey all! I am still quite new here, but wanted to share a bit about my ducks.
About 3.5 months ago, I got two Pekin ducklings, PopTart and Chenga. Chenga and Poptart were the best of friends, partners in crime, adventurers of my 11 acres. 4 days ago, PopTart suddenly passed. Chenga wasn’t acting herself, yelling and sitting at his grave. Yesterday, I got her two ducklings, and I don’t think iv ever seen Chenga happier in her life. She’s adopted them, they follow her everywhere, though she does get a bit upset when they keep swimming in her water dish! I know Pekins aren’t exactly known for their motherly instincts, but Chenga has been doing an amazing job, following them around everywhere, keeping them warm. Of course iv included some pictures! The darker one is named Jolene, and the lighter Dots. Not exactly sure on their breed, but I’m thinking Golden Layers. Let me know if anyone knows what they might be. Thanks for reading
