So this is my first year actually owning silkies. I bought a beautiful roo and 3 hens and have enjoyed them immensely and have been able to hatch out several of their eggs. I was sharing my experience with a friend and she decided she wanted to hatch some eggs for her kids this summer. I was going to let her borrow my incubator and give her several silkie eggs to hatch because they are light and the kids should be able to easily see the chicks developing. Well I have another week left for the eggs in my incubator and was going to start collecting eggs for her. I went out to check the nest boxes and ALL my hens have decided they wanted to share nest boxes and go broody at the same time. Most of them only have 2-3 eggs, but I guess they just really want to have some babies this summer! LOL!
Yup, silkies are super broody girls, notoriously
