Danged Grave-robbing coons!!

My DH always puts some wire over the dead animal to keep that from happening.

We DID put wire and logs over it! They dug around it. We always do that. That's why I'm thinking it might have been the blood on the chickens that gave off too much scent. We usually use chicken wire, and this time we used pieces of utility fencing. Next time we'll put a much bigger piece of chicken wire and many more logs. I've also noticed (at least with plants), that its good to wear clean work gloves to bury them, so our scent isn't on everything too.
I'm going to buy the lime that was suggested too.

I had to bury a cat a while back ( not our cat )

I guess I didnt dig deep enough and I seen the crows peck at it after a few days. The creepy thing is that a front leg stuck out of the ground with his knarly little claw all curled up.Looked like it was ready to come back up out of the ground.

I dont have any coons yet digging up anything out of the ground. I hope that will never happen. We have at least 20 animals burried around the property now.
