Mine used to go broody all the time. Though I swear it was to get away from their over breeding rooster, hah!
They're pretty showy and small and easy, great show birds. But competition is usually pretty tough, around here at least. Take your time to find them from one of the good breeders if you want to do somewhat well.
Mine have been pretty easy to keep, yes.

They're good mamas and decent layers. The hens are really sweet, the males are annoying. They're either flighty and insane or meeeaaan. The breed is more susceptible to Marek's Disease. They're easy to keep and cold tolerant.

I used to raise Belgian D'Anvers in Black and Quail varieties. They are very fun birds, and you can get them in several colors including, Quail, Black, White, Mottled, Self Blue, Lavender, and I've seen other colors being developed. The males are sprightly and beautiful, and the females are very quiet. Beware, although they look small and cute, the males tend to be very aggressive toward other males... as well as toward humans. Don't plan on walking into the pen with flip flops on if you don't want them to tear up your feet. The good thing is that they don't do much damage!! haha! They are pretty small, and the breed doesn't have spurs really (unless they are mixed with another breed). The females aren't known for laying, but they are about average I would say. Very nice birds, uncommon. I would suggest becoming a member of the Belgian D'Anver Club (http://danverclub.blogspot.com), and you can get a list of breeders around you. Good luck!!!
