I hatched a variety of eggs almost 5 weeks ago. I have two dark Brahmas and they are both all black with the tip of some feathers white. I think I have two roos, what do you think?

I don't think they are pure brahma, brahmas have pea combs and those are single combs.

So going by the combs to say they are not dark brahmas, you cannot guess gender based on color with these ones. Combs still yellow/skin colored, no waddle growth, so far I'd say they are pullets.

They look more like Black Cochins to me.

They appear to have single combs (Brahmas have pea combs, Cochins have single combs)
Those chicks are black. Dark Brahmas are not actually black.

They don't really look like males to me at this time, but they are young enough that doesn't mean much. Some males develop faster than others, and 5 weeks is young enough that slow-developing males just will not be obvous yet.

This is the second one I think the first pictures I uploaded are all of yeh same chick. It has fuzzy feet but the lady I got them from also has Barred rock chickens. Maybe it’s a Brahma x Barred Rock? It also came out of a pretty dark brown eggs and Brahmas lay tan/light brown. Now I don’t really know what breed it is!

This is the rooster, looks like Barred rock. And these are the hens, doesn’t look like a Brahma. And this is the egg, dark brown colored. Any thoughts on the hen?

No brahma in any of these birds. The rooster is single barred, so most likely a barred rock mix. Possibly a black sexlink rooster. The hens are most likely black copper marans or marans mixes, especially with that egg.

The first chick looks like a pullet right now. The second one definitely looks like a cockerel.

I think the hens are black marans as well. I put it into Google image and that’s what it came up with.

I had four chicks hatched from these eggs. My friend has two of them, but she has one black one like I have and one that already has the black and white penciling. I wonder if that one’s a rooster or just got more of the barred rock gene

These hens are marans. The dark eggs and feathered shanks (not toes) give it away. Or they could be a marans cross.

I can’t really tell the cock’s leg colour, if it’s yellow it’s a black sec link male, if white, could be a cuckoo marans.
