Dark Brahmas with neck molt?

I have 5 Dark Brahma layers, they were 1 year old March 3rd. A month-ish ago they all lost the feathers on their necks.... No lice, pecking, rash, illness, or other symptoms. Got some DE and sprinkled them every day for a week.... little in coop and feed.... Just in case of Mites. Now the feathers are growing back nicely. I have hens of other breeds with them, never lost a feather. I'm assuming this was just a normal molt for Dark Brahmas? Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I am experiencing it rite now with one of my EE's necks. Same thing no symptoms, no other molt, and no rash or bugs. Mine has had it for a while and still laying. It is kind of wierd...

I am wondering since they are only a year old they are going through their first mini-molt?

I have the same thing going on! I have 6 hens, no roosters, and only one of my RIR's has the neck feathers missing. I am new to chickens and wasn't sure if it was molting or something more serious. You said you got some DE and sprinkled it on them. What is DE? I also saw on a different site that maybe they needed more protein, one post said to try Calf Manna. I think I'll give that a try!

This is so weird. I too noticed it on my Silkie this am. I will definitely do the DE too! Just on the side of the neck for my girl!
