Hey there-
I have 4 week old chicks. Out of the brooder, in a new enclosure, and ready for the coop when complete.
2 RI Reds, 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Austrolorps, and 2 Buff Orpingtons.
It seems the darker chicks are "picking" on the lighter ones. They have picked tail feathers and a little blood-
The orps are patched up and separated for now.
Is it the difference in breed?
Color?
Pecking order?
How and when can they be together again?
I will be checking on their protein content in the crumble and may give extra protein if needed...
I have posted over on the "injuries and disease" board as well about the picking and bleeding-
Thanks-
