Dark Marans???

Bought 12 eggs and all but 2 hatched, chicks are 4 weeks old, some are starting to color up nice, others are not.

Does it take some a while to start taking on the color traits or are some not Marans?

Ask the breeder if they mix their birds. Maybe it is a black copper marans, or someone got into the pen that shouldnt...do they have milk men as far as chickens are concerned...lol. The second pic looks just like my cuckoo marans pullet.
