Dark , slow growing Comb

I have one black sexlink whose comb has not grown much nor has it started turning red yet. The chick is about 16 weeks old now. It's wattles are also small -- they are just beginning to turn red. All the other chicks I got at the same time have much larger wattles and combs -- and they are all red. All but one are sexlinks -- and I suspect has many different crosses rather than just two. She seems very healthy. Has anyone else had a chicken with this slow of growth to the comb?

Yes I have a couple of sex links that are the same way. Some have pronounced combs and some have very small ones.
I have had no other issues, the ones with the small combs are lower on the peck order though.

Yes, she is probably the lowest on the pecking order, the smallest, and yet the friendliest. She loves to hop up on my shoulder or sit in my lap. Some of the others will come sit on the edge of the chair to say hello but she is the only one that wants to actually be on me.

I'm glad to hear that she is simply going to have a small comb.
