Has anyone ordered chicks from http://www.darkeggs.com/? They look like a nice place. I really want to get barnevelders and they have them so I wanted to inquire.

I've never ordered from them but, I've only heard good stuff about them. Barnevelders would be nice, a rare breed....

I've been looking into dark eggs too. Where in Upstate are you? We're in Dutchess County. I'll be looking into finding breeder for either Sussex, Barnevelders or Marans if you want to share info.

I looked at Dark Eggs a few months back and they seemed fine - I've just gone off the idea of getting mail order chicks.

I ordered Cuckoo Marans and Welsummers from Darkeggs.com. I was very happy with the Welsummers. The egg color was very nice. The CMs were nice, big birds, but the eggs weren't as consistently dark as my Welsummers. Out of 25 chicks I had one DOA.
