Darkened eyes

Hey all so my chick is about a week old and he's one of the last to catch, however I've noticed this circle around his eyes. Does this mean anything and if so how can I stop the others from getting it ?

How does the duckling act? Eating good running around with the other ducklings? You might try some Vetericyn plus antimicrobial ophthalmic gel. Or Terramycin eye ointment. For the eyes are they having discharge?
