I was rearranging the eggs in the hatcher, and one was stuck. I thought "How odd" and pulled a little harder. It lifted up and left behind a chip of shell! A realLy BIG dime size piece! I was horrified! The membrane is fine.

Is the chick fine?

I keep the humidity above 80% . . . . will this help?

Where on the egg is the missing piece? The shell needs to be "replaced". Cover with tape or dip into slightly cooled candle wax.

how far long is the incubation process

At day 21. 4 others have hatched, 1 pipped. THis one is REally important to me.

Thanks nurse turtle! It's about the middle, half way between each end. I can see dk gray-blk feathers. I will go tape it.

Could this be the location of the beak? Obviously the underside of the egg since relocating the egg from incubator to hatcher. Egg has been in that position since Sunday evening.

Missing peice in too many peices! Covered hole with several peices of masking tape. Hope that is more breathable than a scotch tape type clear tape.

Just be careful not to use too much or you might have a problem with pipping.

Definitely keep an eye on it and keep your humidity up. You may need to assist if it's in a bad spot.
