So recently, our chickens have been going to our neighbors yard. ( He throws corn for them) But a few days ago he says my chickens have been going to his roses and eating them. And I know my chickens don't like roses. So we were getting our old fence replaced because the chickens kept flying over it. Now he is all complainig about it being on our property. We had a surveyor come out and check it and he was right. Why would he do that if it never bothered him before? Now have to move a fence that has been there 5+ years. We know where we are going to put it now but, what can I do to make my chickens stay in my yard? I have already tried throwing food when they head over but that didn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Sophie

Can you get a roll of some fencing and make a little temporary pen for them? You can put some bird netting overhead (snow will bring it down) to keep them from flying out until you get your fence situation settled. This will take the time pressure off you.

U and T posts are not cheap but maybe you can reuse them elsewhere?

How many chickens do you have? ChickensAreSweet has the best temporary solution for you. Take a roll of fencing and using some stakes just fashion a "pen" of sorts and put bird netting over the top of it...hope everything works out!

I agree with some temporary fencing.
Home depot has some plastic garden fencing in a roll that is 40 inches high and 25 foot long. I think it was under 10 dollars a roll.
Not tall I know but with netting or even using this on the top it could help stop the intrusions.
How about PVC pipe for posts. It is inexpensive and easy to form into a hoop run.
