Hi guys :(

My 20 month old hen, ( a year and 8 months ) seems ill. She's my favourite hen, such a cutie. Her name is Nero.
She is acting lethargic, tired, and her feathers are fluffed up.
She seems to be eating fine, her poop is small gold and white, nothing too abnormal.
I think she did lay today.
If it does help she has a small problem with lice that I'm treating.
Still pecking and scratching.
Any ideas or what do I do?
Thanks,
Ali

If she has not had her first big molt, it's possible that she is starting it. They get very pale, stop laying, touching them can become painful, and feel generally awful for a few weeks until the feathers come back. My go to cure for anything chicken, is to give vitamins and probiotics 3 days a week in the water, and consider worming with fenbendazole or in your case, Flubenvet. Chickens must be dusted every 10 days, and coops cleaned and sprayed with permethrin, ravap, or sevin to get rid of lice. With mites, it is every 7 days.

We'll thanks for the reply.
I just went out to her and she seems fine, she's scratching, eating, running around and singing.
Should I still give her the "treatments" you recommended?
Thanks
Ali

The worming is something that probably should be done twice a year, but the probiotics and vitamins are good for all chickens anytime to help their immunity to fight off disease.
