darn things ate all my flowers!!!!!

either that or put fences around the plants you really don't want them to strip down.

My little ones discovered the Hostas yesterday. Oh well, they get them or the deer will.

What I don't appreciate is when the major scratching and digging starts. I have 16 little Cochin girls and their feathered feet are going to be throwing the dirt like little shovels.

Actually, they don't always eat everytbing, at least ours don't. We found that they will leave our flowers alone once the plants are bigger, for some reason. Two years ago they ate our impatiens and a lot of other smaller flowers, but this year they left everything alone except the wildflowers

, our blackberries, and we don't like it when they eat the frogs, salamanders, and baby garters that run around our property.

We discouraged them from turning our garden into a dustbath by making it a rock garden; they compromised by making a dustbath BESIDE the rock garden, and the cats use it, too! They leave our vegetable garden alone, I don't know why, maybe cause they don't seem to care for tomatoes much, so they just don't investigate the rest.

My girls didn't do *too* much damage this year. Of couse, they were littler.

Next year may be a different story! We're already considering fencing off 1/2 of the yard and letting that be "theirs", just to keep them from destroying everything else.

Hahaha... I know what we'll be expecting soon. Going to have to cover all the flower beds in mesh. Probably going to have to get a gate for the deck. They are hungry little buggers!
