Hey, I still trick mom (for her own good, getting her to do things she doesn't want to do like go to the doctor) and I'm 45 and she's 85!

Well, the other egg decided to hatch, so I have another Button quail again. This time I moved it into the bator with the Silkies that are hatching because the other bator was running only for that one tiny little egg. Let's see if this one makes it. Thanks for letting me know that they are very heat sensitive. I'll keep that in mind for this new chick!

I had a single button hatch, once.

You can use a small plastic wall tote, as a brooder, with a low watt bulb over the top. it will be a while before he can fly out. You can use a screen or a cookie cooling rack over the top.

Try to make sure its drinking as soon as possible. I also understand they are very susceptible to dehydration, and perhaps that's a possible cause of the death of your first one.

Good luck. I've got my own batch of them myself right now.
