Dawn Till Dusk Door Opener?

Has anyone on here use the Dawn Till Dusk automatic door opener? I've noticed it reasonable price and operates from a light sensor instead of a timer, which I'd prefer. I've just been wondering what others thought about it and is it possible to mount in inside the coop? I've seen great reviews for the "add-a-motor" door openers but they only run of a timer, right?

I have the add a motor and love it, I don't like the idea of a sensor my run is covered and if a storm comes in and gets dark and the door closes, with my digital timer it opens and closes to the exact minute I set it for.

How often do you find that you have to change the timer?

I bought a utlitech digital timer with a battery back up built in from Lowe's, daylight savings time is the only time I change the time. I think the timer was less than $20.

Ok. I was wondering how you set the timer to make sure it's okay with the days getting longer in the spring or shorter in the fall. I assume you just make sure that its set so they'll have plenty of time to back into the coop all year long.

Yeah I have it set to close about a 1/2 hour after dark and open about 15 minutes before sunrise.

Hi this is a great product and the guy that runs it, Rus Moore couldn't be more helpful. We have 2 coops a bit of a walk away from the house and it was getting to be a bit of a chore closing up at night. We saw the Dawn til Dusk doors at the New Forest Show (UK) and were really impressed with the product. It was simple to fit and when we needed to make an adjustment, we asked and got a response straight back from Rus. We have been using them for 2 years with no problems, so yes a big tick for this product.

I have had one of the Dawn Till Dusk Doors here in the UK since 2014, and found them to be reliable and weatherproof, they are also helpful on information, and sell parts after the warranty period has ended, which is really handy, they are really popular in Europe.

Hi, I bought the Dawn till Dusk door opener recently. Fitted it to an awkward shaped coop and it work brilliantly. I choose this over the timed door openers for two reasons, firstly the time variations over the seasons in the UK are huge and I didn't want to have to keep changing it and secondly I wanted my husband, who is in a wheelchair, to be able to look after the chickens when I had a few days away now and then. With this door opener he only has to throw them some food and collect the eggs and I know the girls will
be just fine. I've not had a minutes problem with it since I installed it. I also must add that Russ couldn't have been more helpful. Would recommend his company to anyone.
