Julie shut her locker and walked outside. She saw Tyler and walked up to him. "Hey."

Tyler smiled at her. "Hey. So, what do ya wanna do?" he asked.

"You were going to tell me why you were upset at lunch." She said, not dropping the subject this time.

"I wasn't really upset, just thinking about...." Tyler hesitated for a moment. He stared at the ground. "About the best way to ask you out," he finished in a murmur, his cheeks turning a bright red.

She smiled. "Maybe you don't have to." She said, looking over at him. "Would you like to go out with me?" She said, not scared one bit.

Tyler relaxed. "Yeah, sure!" he said cheerfully. "Where do you wanna go?"

"Um. Well. If we go anywhere, it'll have to be after work. I've got a job at a computer store." She said. "My shift ends around 6."

Just then Noah walked up. "Hey guys." He said. "We're walking home today, right?"

"Sorry. I have to go to work."

"Oh, ya. Forgot about that."

"Um. Well. If we go anywhere, it'll have to be after work. I've got a job at a computer store." She said. "My shift ends around 6."

"Ok, cool. I've gotta work at the pool as a lifeguard. My shift ends at 6:20, so, maybe 7:00?" he asked.
