day 12 is this egg dead?

Since I am so new to this and its my first hatch... is this egg dead? the other eggs i have in the incubator seem to be all moving around some larger than others not sure why but the are Japanese bantams if that makes a difference.

I just need to know if i need to toss this egg before it explodes on me.

yes...that is a blood ring. Looks like the chick died. I am sorry. I really hope the rest of your chicks hatch! Also....you can tell if it smells really bad...but of course some don't smell at all. Looks like the veins stopped and the chick died halfway though.

thanks. its a bit disappointing cause we only had 2 of that color in the incubator and to loose one

hope we can get the other to hatch

I was told if you get 1/2 of Japs to hatch you are good because they have the double dwarf gene and its lethal. and out of the ones that do hatch only 1/4 will be show able.

yes that one is a quitter....Its safe to throw it out.
