day 14 candled , egg size question

Today is day 14 for my eggs, I candled and all are great seen movement in all even in the welsummers.
I hope the eggs under my hen are doing the same.
My question is the eggs are on the small side first time layers. And I used the carton for hatching last time and want to do the same this time.
With the eggs being small what do I expect, and should I use the top of the carton instead.
I hope that the babies all do good.

I have mine in carton but I found the real small banty eggs were too deep into the carton. So I took them out and sat them on their side in the lid of a carton. very difficult to get my fingertips around them getting them out for candling and think too much egg surface is covered within carton. If they pipped anywhere but the very very top they would have nowhere to go.

Thank you, I think I will use the top of the carton.
And keep my fingers crossed. We are working on a new coop so I can move around chickens to have room.
My 7 week olds are still in the big brooder box.

Coop size....lol....just never big enough!

My new coop is 8 x 16 with a 8 x 36 run. This is 1 of 3 we are building over the next two months.
I have a bigger coop now and when all is built I'll have 4 coops with runs. And then there's the hoop coop, small coop, and a tractor. I know I can never have too many.
My husband said be for long we will have all of 2 acres of chickens. We wont though its a possible.
