I am pretty sure this chick has died. It's not moving and there are two (what I think are) blood spots. No veins by air cell. Can someone give me their thoughts? This is my first attempt at incubating and it's all new to me. I checked all eggs for movement on day 13 and this one passed but today(day 16) I see no movement even when I turn it faster.

They don't always move, so don't count it out yet.
Looks OK as far as I can see....not sure what this is tho:
Has that spot been there all thru the incubation?
How often do you candle?

I'd leave it in as long as it smells normal. Mark it so you knkw which one it is when you check again on day 18. If there's still no movement, or it looks like there's no growth you can get rid of it before hatch.

No it hadn't been there. That was my first inclination that something was wrong. The Chick was dead. Looks to have absorbed part of the yolk but didn't see anything to tell me why it died. Thanks for your replies. I just put them in lockdown and decided to take it out due to no movement or changes. I had traced some defining marks to track and nothing moved.

I have a picture, I was wondering if any of you would mind looking at and giving your opinion of what happened??

I would mark the egg and leave it incubating for a few days more, just in case, btw what was the humidity? and you use automatic or manual turning?
