Hello all I am new to the posting world so here I go!

We had a lady who had 45 chickens give us her fertilized eggs...and she gave us about 24 eggs stating that she did not know if any of them were really firtile because her rooster was having problems.
Well it just so happens that I finally got the nerve to candle them and there were 3 blood rings and the rest....
......well under the candling they are kicking away!!

I have done this before with 30 eggs from another type of farmer who 'guarranties his eggs' and we got 11 that hatched. I think though we were a little careless with that batch being new parents and all.

Anyway just wanted to share my excitement and hopefully everyone could give me there information on candling and if I should do it on the 18th day before I put them in without the turner....?

okie dokie,
Take care everyone

Yep, I would candle on day 18 as I was putting them into the hatcher, but that's because I have sticky candling fingers.

Since you see them now, you don't have to though. I sure hope too many chicks make it!!! Hardest part is closing the hatcher on day 18 and not opening again till day 22!!!

I know, its hard not to keep candling them now!

Thats ok...I can be a adult about this....LOL

I guess I will on day 18 just to make sure , but its hard to wait this out. Oh well gotta keep myself occupied...lets see...what do the kids need for Christmas?
......
oh yea they need baby chickens! HAHA:lol:

Thanks for helping....I will post on day 18 to tell everyone how they look in there......
I really hope they all make it. Its amazing that they are all busy in the egg and I thought that maybe one was fertile!!
