I’m a newbie!. We Are on day 15 of our 1 chick egg incubation. When I checked this morning the humidity had dropped to 30% overnight. No idea how long for. I immediately added warm
Water without opening to much. I checked before bed and it was 42% at 11pm. I’ve been aiming for the 40% as advised until day 18 when I raise to 60%. Will this drop for a poss 7 hours effect the hatch? Any advice appreciated

I think they’ll be fine, i’ve heard of people dry incubating. Mine has dropped like that before as the incubator we use is a bit rickety😂 and it’s never affected us before. Let me know how they get on.

Not enough of a drop to worry about :hugs
There are peeps that incubate dry, and only add humidity at lockdown. I'm not sure what their reasons for such are.:idunno
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome
Thankyou so much!!!!. We are in love with this lil chick already!

Looking beautifully on day 13. Not checked since. When do you suggest next candeling? I’d do it every day if I could!!!!

Haste makes waste,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well It is just a saying, but I would keep the candling to a minimum number. Many peeps candle on day 8 and 18. many do not candle at all. When chick is ready to enter world, she will :thumbsup

I was thinking to do it day 17 evening and pencil air cell again. as locking down day 18 first thing after adding water. that ok? Only really wanted to candle as an odd dark lime at the back of the egg for over a week but as it’s growing still I don’t think will be a issue. Not your classic blood ring. Hoping it’s not a double yoker with a quitter in the other one. Would t be good.
