So - I am on day 17 of my Japanese quail eggs. Went into lock down at day 14
Now for the waiting game..
wish me luck :)

woke up this morning to one baby quail - only 23 to go :)

so - 8 babies now (things happened while I was at work today) so exciting.
I know they will be fine for a day or so without food - but not sure, do I need to put some water in for them?
cheers
Leone

I wait 48 hours and have read up to 72 before transferring them to the brooder. The biggest issue is losing humidity while eggs have pipped causing them to become shrink wrapped.

19 babies out of 24 eggs.. pretty stoked for a first time trying.
not bad for a home made incubator from a polystyrene box, with holes to moderate humidity. Hand rolled them 3 times a day prior to lockdown. all happy now in their brooder :)

This is what my 19 one and two day old babies look like. So **** cute!

I think all want to see a picture from incubator. Do you have?
Good luck!!
