Day 17 courtinx quail showing so signs of hatching yet

Hey so first time quail hatch today is day 17 theres no pipping or anything is this normal? Sam

Day 18 and sometimes even 19 are also normal hatching times. They might just be working on an internal pip. Hatching is very tiring for a chick so don’t be alarmed if they take their time. Did you candle for movement before lockdown? Best of luck!

Yes done chicks before so kinda know the drill just werent sure about quail thanks xx

Do you have a calibrated thermometer in your incubator?
What have you been keeping your humidity level at?
Can you candle one, in a dark Room, with the cellphone light and get a clear photo of it?

Humidy 65-70% temp 37.5 since lockdown day 14

Sometimes to help pipping the mother or in this case you can do mini taps on the egg. It’s a similar thing to making them eat and drink. They’re young and often learn from following others. Hope all goes well, keep us posted and when they hatch be sure to put some pics of the cute little critters.

So woke up this morning out of 38 eggs 28 have hatched doing fine lol and they still hatching
