URGENT!! please help hatching quail

hi everyone! i need help. it is my first time hatching quail and i am only used to hatching chickens and ducks. so i’ve researched and researched but id figure id come here. so one quail started hatching last night, at around 10 pm. it is now 1 the next day and it has been trying to hatch for 15 hours. i’ll atttach a video but as you can see it hasn’t made much progress. the egg is moving a lot, it is chirping and seems very active, but hasn’t been able to make much of a hole. it hasn’t rested much as has been trying and trying. is it ok? what should i do?

I’d leave it alone, they can take up to 60 hours pip to hatch. If it can’t hatch there is usually a reason and early assistance can be deadly. Of the ones I’ve helped, unless they are backwards, they usually die after hatch or have a significant deformity. Smaller eggs tend to make more ruckus, my guess is the chick is cramped and wants out! Others go from nothing to hatch in twenty minutes.

ok thank you so much. i can see it’s trying but it looks like the membrane may be sort of dried out. and im definitely too scared to intervene as ive heard they can bleed out if you hurt the membrane. do you think that it will hatch or does it maybe have something wrong with it?
